MPVCC Ushers Ministry

The Ushers at MPVCC are "first responders" in many ways. They are responsible for what amounts to member and visitor first impressions on any given morning. First impressions are important, as they determine whether or not a visitor or even a member comes back or turns right around and leaves. In addition, ushers are responsible for the order and safety of the congregation during services. They welcome and assist guests and members who enter the building, collect offerings, open doors, give directions, and escort people to their destinations.

What to expect
Though it doesn’t take a lot of training (we all know what it’s like to be new), we do coach every Usher on the “ins and outs” of the position prior to serving. Ushers serve in teams directed by a Lead Usher, so you’re never “on your own”. You get to work with a “quirky” group of people who love God and love serving His people. In fact, that’s the biggest pre-requisite to join. You don’t have to be the most outgoing, happy-go-lucky person in the building. Our team is filled with many people of varying, and opposite, personalities. What connects them is their love for God and His people. Joining the ministry is a great way to get to know others at the church building, so even if you’re relatively new, this could be just the thing for you.
